At MPTC, we are in a unique position to impact our district communities, and we work diligently to hire candidates with aligned values and extensive skillsets to help move the mission of Moraine Park forward.Position Summary:Moraine Park Technical College is looking for a part-time Adjunct Faculty member to teach Respiratory Therapy courses beginning in Spring 2026 at our Fond du Lac and West Bend campuses. There is potential for this position to continue beyond the initial term.This instructor is responsible for the multiple modality delivery of instruction and facilitation of student learning and providing ongoing development of curriculum, assessment, and learning strategies to meet workforce needs. In addition, the selected candidate will provide regular student support and contact, or refer to the appropriate department, to meet the learner’s classroom and career goals.The successful candidate will have a bachelors degree in a related field and four years (8,000 hours) of paid work experience related to the program(s) being taught, with at least two years in clinical respiratory care. A minimum of one year (2,000 hours) of related paid work experience that has been acquired within the past five years. In lieu of this one year (2,000 hours) of recent experience, two years of post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within the past five years may be considered. Maintain a positive climate for learning by performing classroom management and being aware of, monitoring, and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct.Meet student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments.Maintain student confidentiality, records, and documentation as required by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Submit grades within the expected timeframe.Provide timely verbal and written feedback to the students to ensure continued growth and development.May participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of curriculum.Assist with student recruitment and positively promote the College programs and services offered.Promote retention and student success through the utilization of referrals to College services and resources.Maintain ongoing relationships with K-12, Department of Corrections (DOC), community, and industry partners beyond the classroom.Actively maintain proficient knowledge and skills in emerging trends and current occupational practices. Complete annual professional development activities in areas of Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS) competencies. Complete all required training.Perform other duties as assigned.Experience & Qualifications(in addition to those listed in the summary above):Current certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and current state license.Experience in all of the following job duties:Arterial puncturesAirway management and emergencyCardiopulmonary resuscitationBronchial hygiene and suctioningInfection control/universal precautionsOxygen therapyMechanical ventilationAerosol therapy including bronchodilatorsAge-appropriate pulmonary patient careAssessment of patient's cardiopulmonary status according to therapeutic protocolPulmonary function testingUpon hire, must maintain and/or obtain Higher Learning Commission, Faculty Quality Assurance System, and other agency requirements and licensure required to maintain individual and program accreditation, if applicable.Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.Any combination of necessary experience and qualifications which provides desired knowledge, skills, and abilities.Other Position Requirements:Must satisfactorily complete health screen requirements, which may include criminal and caregiver background checks, drug test and/or verification of immunizations.Flexible scheduling may be required to include evenings and weekends.This position may require travel to MPTC (Moraine Park Technical College) campus locations other than the base location, client/contract work sites, and/or Department of Corrections (DOC) institutions.Must possess a valid driver’s license.Hiring Range: Adjunct pay rates may vary between $39.85 - $43.99/hour based on course configurationStarting: January 19, 2026Hours/Schedule/Travel: This instructor will teach 1-2 day(s) per week. Position requires travel between the Fond du Lac and West Bend Campuses. Additional travel to clinical sites (located from Appleton - Milwaukee) may also be required.
