Senior Director of Engineering in Charlotte, NC or Frisco, TX (Client Site)The Senior Director of Engineering provides expert technical leadership for all critical building equipment and systems. This role oversees engineering operations, develops maintenance strategies, and drives system optimization initiatives. The position requires extensive knowledge of commercial building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and automation technologies. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with strategic leadership skills to ensure optimal facility performance while maintaining excellent client relationships.Here is some of your day:Lead daily engineering operations, including system monitoring, incident response, and performance optimizationDevelop and implement operational strategies that align with organizational goals and technical requirementsBuild and manage cross-functional relationships between engineering teams and other departmentsEstablish operational metrics and KPIs to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvementDrive process standardization and automation initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce manual interventionManage operational budgets and resource allocation for maximum efficiencyLead incident management processes, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective measuresOversee capacity planning and infrastructure scalability to support business growthWho we are looking for:Required7+ years of experience in engineering operations or related technical rolesProven experience leading operational teams in a technical environmentStrong understanding of IT infrastructure, system architecture, and operational best practicesExperience with monitoring tools, incident management systems, and operational metricsExcellent problem-solving abilities and analytical skillsStrong leadership and communication skillsPreferredBachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical fieldExperience with DevOps methodologies and practicesKnowledge of automation tools and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processesCertification in ITIL, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence frameworksExperience in cloud infrastructure management (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Success FactorsAbility to balance strategic vision with tactical executionProactive approach to identifying and addressing operational challengesEffective stakeholder management and communication skillsData-driven decision-making approachCommitment to continuous improvement and operational excellenceSchedule: Monday-Friday day shift with on-call 24/7 for emergency responsePay $110,000-160,000 with a 20% targeted bonus of the annual salaryEstimated total compensation for this position:150,000.00 – 200,000.00 USD per yearThe total compensation range is an estimate and not guaranteed.
