Job Description Ledgent is partnering with a well-known, growing, law firm in the downtown Minneapolis area. this role is *newly created* and would be great for someone looking to leave public accounting or with previous law experience. Direct Hire Position. $130-$170k + Bonus. Based on experience. On-site 5x/week (with occasional remote flexibility as needed). Job Description: Manage R&D tax credit studies and related activities including client interviews, analyzing client data, developing client and industry specific tools and templates, and preparing technical reports. Assist with the delivery of engagements as needed, including research, and writing with regard to technical and compliance issues. Conduct a thorough analysis of taxes to provide expert advice on tax planning and optimization opportunities to ensure compliance with local regulations. Coordinate and manage tax audits, inquiries and notices from tax authorities. Manage and deliver R&D tax credit services to clients including tax credit calculations, refund claim preparations, IRS audit defense and related advisory services. Keep up-to-date with current R&D tax credit industry practices and changes in tax law and IRS administrative procedures. Maintain documentation and records related to tax filings, provisions and other tax-related activities. Collaborate with other departments and teams, such as finance, legal and operations, to ensure alignment and coordination on tax matters. Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations in India and proactively identify potential risks or opportunities for the organization. Develop and maintain excellent client relationships. Provide R&D tax credit legal, procedural and computational advice to clients. Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in commerce, accounting, taxation or a related field. Professional qualification of Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and preferably some Alteryx (or similar program) experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax management, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
