The -bed facility is one of the largest free-standing psychiatric hospital in the United States. We are located on a serene -acre campus in northeast Shelby County, serving as the setting for the treatment for children, adolescents, young adults, adults and seniors. Lakeside's comprehensive programs treat disorders such as bipolar disorder, psychological trauma, depression and anxiety, mental illnesses and addictive disease disorders such as alcoholism, drug addiction and substance abuse

The Mental Health Technician creates a safe environment for patients, saves lives when necessary, provides hope, empowers patients, and teaches new tools for coping to patients. The Mental Health Technician provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, individual/family education groups and activities of daily living.

Job Requirements

Education : High School Diploma required, Bachelor's Degree in Psychology preferred.

Experience : One year related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness preferred.

Knowledge: Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management and crisis management with aggressive behaviors preferred.
