We are looking for Per Diem Respiratory Therapists who can work either 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am shifts as needed, to join our team of experienced medical professionals for our state-of-the-art, 20-bed Ventilator Unit located within our 120-bed nursing and rehabilitation facility. Respiratory Therapist responsibilities include operating therapeutic gas administration equipment and mechanical ventilators and providing emergency care such as external cardiac massage or artificial respiration during medical emergencies.Respiratory Therapists help patients who have trouble breathing by providing general and emergency respiratory therapy. This entails assessing patients and performing diagnostic tests to determine the extent of the illness or injury that’s causing it.You will collaborate in a team environment and treat patients in need with prescribed medications and supportive devices for respiratory diseases.Responsibilities:• Evaluate, treat, and manage patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary conditions.• Administer therapies such as oxygen, nebulizer treatments, and ventilator support.• Conduct diagnostic tests (e.g., spirometry, arterial blood gases) and adjust treatments based on patient response.• Educate patients and families on respiratory care and equipment use.• Collaborate with healthcare teams to create and adjust treatment plans.• Document in electronic health records and enter orders as needed.• Accompany residents/patients as needed on appointments.Qualifications:• Licensed in Rhode Island to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) certification.• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy.• Strong clinical skills and attention to detail.Apply now to learn more about this opportunity
