That's what we do every day.The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.Serve as a Project Manager within the Project Management Office (PMO) under the Ground Project Management group (D2410) - working on COMET Change Requests (CCR) and Engineering Service Requests (ESR).- Provide Project Management oversight and assist in all aspects of projects.- Provide oversight and assist with the management of project scope, risks, budgets and schedule changes.- Provide oversight when assigned the responsibilities of establishing new project teams in support of COMET identified requirementsfocusing on ensuring project management standardization and resourcing across the COMET Project Portfolio.- Demonstrate ability to lead matrixed, cross functional teams.- Demonstrate understanding of project scheduling development and resource loading to capture all work performed in executing theproject life-cycle.- Provide Project Management oversight and assist with the preparation of project artifacts to include, but not limited to projectplanning, project status reports, project briefs, cost reporting, variances, forecasting, metrics, etc.- Host/facilitate project team meetings.- Coordinate project assessments and generate necessary Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) estimates and informal ROMs (iROM).- Perform other duties as assigned.BS in Engineering with PM experience (5+ years minimum). Alternatively, candidates with a relevant four-year degree, or technical equivalent along with PM experience and PMP certification date would be consideredDepending on the candidate’s experience, requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised. Physical RequirementsWill be required to climb stairs to access equipment for troubleshooting. Climbing ladders and platforms will be necessary. Will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection and other associated personal protective equipment. Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing. Physical requirements are sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures. Must be able to work in tight confined space areas. Work Environment All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and Company safety standards. Will be required to work inside and outside throughout the test complex. Position requires daily individual to travel to different areas on site. Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on the facility. Equipment and Machines Operate computer terminals, personal computers, and related computer peripheral equipment to maintain/adjust database logs and records, print documents and record work performance. Personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, laser printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies. Attendance Work assignments are normally 8 hours shifts, 5 consecutive days per week. Must be dependable and punctual. Occasional overtime, sometimes with short notice, is required to meet demanding schedule Other Essential Functions If offered a position, proof of Citizenship or Legal Permanent Resident/Green Card holder of the United States is required. Needs to have clear, concise, and accurate communication skills. Must have ability to work well with office staff and customer representatives. Government security clearance may be required in the future. Must be able to travel to support position requirements. This may include travel to and from customer location, which may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can be made for POV, if necessary. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with customers, clients, co-workers, and management. Must possess and maintain a valid CDL with endorsements Florida driver’s license. Must pass a federal background investigation. Must comply with all “drug free workplace” requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions.
