Job Overview: As a Machine Helper at Pratt Industries, you will play a vital role in our manufacturing facility. Your responsibilities will include assisting the machine operator in the safe operation of production machines, which includes setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending operational improvements to meet customer demand. Shift and Pay (Full-Time): Schedule Shift Hours: 1st Shift Hours: 6:00 am – 2:00 pm (Monday – Friday) Starting Pay Rate: $ Per Hour Benefits: We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage. Paid Time Off: Enjoy 5 days of vacation after 6 months and 9 paid holidays. Retirement Savings: Access to a 401(k) plan with a company match after 90 days of employment. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate closely with the machine operator to adhere to the production schedule and work at the pace set by the operator. Accurately set up slotting, feed, and die cut sections on the machine using proper setup techniques. Monitor board quality, including identifying defects such as loose liner, warp, dimensions, caliper, and others. Report quality problems promptly and sort as needed to ensure smooth machine operation. Be open to cross-training on other machines as necessary and express a willingness to advance to an operator role, regardless of the shift. Maintain accurate and timely completion of necessary reports. Proactively report maintenance work orders to supervision for equipment repairs and contribute to the equipment's maintenance. Adhere to all company policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on safety and maintaining good housekeeping. Be prepared to perform other duties as requested. Requirements: High School Diploma or GED A strong desire to learn and excel in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Punctuality and a commitment to regular and predictable attendance Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds Proficiency in performing repetitive motions and working under pressure Comfortable with standing for prolonged periods on a concrete floor Physical agility, including walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and crawling Strong visual acuity, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus Effective communication skills in English (speaking, reading, writing) Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others Dedication to wearing safety gear at all times Availability for overtime as needed Work Environment: At Pratt Industries, we provide a dynamic and challenging work environment. While performing your duties, you will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, and you may occasionally encounter wet and/or humid conditions.
