Are you an experienced finance professional eager to lead and manage the financial operations of a dynamic firm? We are looking for a Firmwide Controller to join our team in Downtown St. Louis, near the iconic Busch Stadium and Gateway Arch. At HOK, you'll have the chance to be part of a team that prioritizes integrity, collaboration, and sustainability. This role involves working closely with leadership and the firmwide accounting team, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Responsibilities: Financial Management and Reporting Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. Manage month-end close process. Oversee the accurate completion of balance sheet reconciliations. Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements in a multi-currency environment. Manage financial reporting and support the development of tools and resources that will provide senior management with financial insights to inform strategic decision-making. Budgeting and Forecasting Lead the annual budgeting process in collaboration with CFO, office leadership, and senior finance team. Monitor budget to actuals. Lead the monthly forecasting process in collaboration with CFO and senior finance team. Compliance and Risk Management Ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles. Monitor and maintain internal controls to manage risk. Coordinate annual external audits. Banking/Cash Management Responsible for global cash flow forecasting and management. Team Leadership Manage and mentor the accounting team. Implement processes and tools to streamline financial operations and reporting. Take personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices. Required Skills Knowledge of accounting and finance principles and practices. Advanced knowledge of project accounting concepts and practices. Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Proficiency in Deltek or similar project accounting software required. Proficiency in Prophix preferred. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing at all management levels. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data. Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 10+ years of related accounting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. 5+ years of experience in an architecture firm and/or project accounting experience.
