Will also consider McLean.  Project Details:  Team works within capital markets and analytics doing automation and data work for various regulatory reporting use cases.  Manage and app to do data transformation and regulatory capital for counterparty credit risk and interest rate risk.  Big project upcoming where they must adjust/add onto current regulatory regime. Team is split between a data & functional team:  o Lohn leads functional aspect where they get into regulations/logic for how they calculate and deliver on their various use cases.  o **This role is under Lohns team focusing on the regulation/rules and ensuring compliant with new rules. Looking for someone to split the difference on both.  What is the Role:  Financial Analyst role (open to other titles) but also ideally data background: able to run queries / access data, set up test cases and ensure the dev/data transformation is accurate.  o Someone who has worked with data / technical background is a bonus.  o Basic SQL / Python is great in terms of the data side is great ? running SQL or Python queries and manipulate data (doesnt need coding).  o Tableau or Excel  Financial service experience with Capital One is preferred.  Testing piece ? this person will be doing manual calculations in Excel and then pulling that data/checking to make sure it matches what theyve calculated for various loan types, securities, etc.  Interview Process: likely a one round panel style interview, may do more if needed. Run queries and analytics on cloud based data Work with Tech developers to validate changes and enhancements to data transformations Perform user acceptance testing on developed solutions Perform variance analysis using tools such as Tableau, Excel, and Databricks Maintain complete documentation of testing efforts Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or military experience 2 years of experience in the financial services industry Experience in analysis Experience querying and analyzing data with SQL and/or Python Preferred Qualifications: Degree in Business or quantitative field such as Finance, Economics, Physical Sciences, Math, Statistics, Engineering Experience with Regulatory Capital and/or Liquidity reporting Experience in business intelligence tools in a cloud computing environment Team and Project Description The Capital Markets Automation and Data team within Capital Markets & Analytics is responsible for creating data solutions related to Regulatory Capital, Single Counterparty Credit Limits, and Liquidity. The team focuses on understanding regulations, managing data and performing calculations used in daily, monthly, and quarterly reporting, and creates analytics that go beyond core regulatory needs to add business value. The Discover merger creates a need to modify and validate data transformations related to upstream system migrations. The project focuses on ensuring existing Capital, Counterparty, and Liquidity calculations and reports continue to maintain a high level of accuracy and timeliness, incorporating newly merged data from upstream data sources.
