Job Summary: The TFA – Electrical Excitation is responsible for the Power Turbine Generator Excitation System and is accountable for control of costs, quality control - preservation, protection, security, or safekeeping of turbine modules, office trailers, tool trailers/gang boxes, cranes, and accessories, spare parts. As well as external reporting: Technical Field Advisers may report to the client, the plant/utility owner, the construction firm, giving daily or weekly updates on job progress or as needed. Responsible for reviewing plant engineering documents and P&ID’s, troubleshooting of plant systems and equipment, planning, organizing, integrating and direction of resources such as labor, tools and materials as required to complete the work scope according to contractual requirements. You may be assigned other duties to help proactively drive our FieldCore vision and align with our organization’s core values. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Electrical Technical Field Advisor will install, commission, and troubleshoot the generator, digital electronic starters (LCI), Digital Generator Protection and supporting wiring systems for gas and steam turbinesTrace through the software documentationImplement control constant modificationsReading and Modifying software sequencingSet up and modify the hardware /software associated with Gas and Steam Turbine systemsImplement excitation control system software changesWork with both DOS and Windows NT based operator interfacesWork with both analog and digital controls including logicProvide Technical Direction for wiring install and terminate, complete functionality checks, and troubleshooting the turbine excitation / LCI system.Perform start-up/shut-down sequencing and turbine/generator operation.Pre-outage and installation planning; possibly recommending and administering policies and procedures Availability to frequent travel and work off-shoreAbility and willingness to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required by field assignmentsRequired Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in engineering and 3 years of experience, or 5 years of experience without formal degree, in power plant maintenance, turbine generator maintenance, or power plant equipment installation/ commissioning.Successful completion of required training programs is a minimum requirementDesired Characteristics: Qualified level. Has the knowledge and skill to actively support an outage and be aware of where to seek answers to questions as they arise. Has experienced successful installations and outages.Experience with Gas Turbine Driver Control Systems and Auxiliary SystemsFamiliar with Instruments and controls and PLCs for controls trainingWide degree of creativity and latitude is expectedStrong analytic and problem-solving skillsGood interpersonal and organizational skillsStrong computer skillsRelies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Compensation and Benefits:The annual salary range for this position is $75,300 to $124,300. This is an exempt from overtime position.
