Montessori Torah Academy -   Full job description Montessori Torah Academy is a private, independent Jewish Montessori school serving students ages 2-12 years of age. Our dedicated staff and supportive environment nurtures independent, joyful, lifelong learners. Job Title:  Lead Elementary Teacher Montessori Torah Academy teachers establish a welcoming classroom where each child feels cared for and respected. The learning environment is student-centered and self-paced, allowing children to explore their own interests while mastering skills and knowledge. Our Montessori program lays the groundwork for academic success by emphasizing critical thinking, problem-solving, independent focus and working in collaboration with others. Duties/Responsibilities:  · Prepare and maintain a learning environment that is clean, organized, and enticing for young learners. Ability to plan or uphold the Montessori curriculum and lessons tailored to the developmental needs of children. · Use behavior management techniques individually tailored to each child and promote classroom normalization. Willingness to train in Collaborative Problem Solving through the school is a must.  · Carefully observe each child, recording academic progress and offering new challenges. · Support each child’s full development socially, mentally, physically and emotionally. · Maintain positive relationships and communications with parents and peers. · Actively participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities. Required Skills/Abilities:  · Love, patience, and respect for children. · Knowledge of Montessori principles and materials. · Knowledge of early childhood development. · Effective communication skills, both written and oral. · Strong problem-solving, organizational and time management skills. · Collaborates effectively with colleagues/co-teacher. Preferred Education and Experience: · Bachelor's degree in early education or a related field .Special Education Certification or experience teaching (required) · Montessori Certification for Elementary education · Prior teaching experience in a Montessori environment. . Strong skills in Transparent Classroom or willingness to learn. .Experience in teaching school age students (4th grade and up)   Competitive salary equal with experience and qualifications.
