Cornerstone of Fresh Meadows - A substance abuse treatment facility located in Fresh Meadows, Queens New York is seeking full-time, part-time Nurse Assistants. Positions are available for evening and overnight shifts. We are a 24 hour-7 day week operation. Currently, we have 8 hour and 12-hour shifts available. You will work alongside fellow caregivers to provide high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide patient care under the direction of nursing staff Escort patients to and from appointments, X-ray, Emergency Room, etc. Assist in the transfer and discharge procedures Responsible for vital signs Maintain a clean and healthy environment May be required to draw and process blood specimen Conduct rounds Assistant in meal periods Conduct searches based on OASAS approved guidelines Qualifications: Previous experience in nursing, patient care, or other related fields Satisfactorily completed nursing assistant or medical assistant program. Ability to build rapport with patients Compassionate and caring demeanor Mental Health or Substance Abuse Facility experience preferred. Must be computer literate Must have CPR certification (or obtain one within 30 days from the date of hire) Benefits: *1199 SEIU Benefits. * Free onsite parking Equal Opportunity Employer.
