Purpose The primary role of this position is to perform fitting and welding using FCAW, GMAW and GTAW processes in the fabrication, assembly, repair and maintenance of structures, subsea hardware, and other components manufactured by Global Machine Shop. Location Requires daily onsite attendance; this is not a remote-work position. Work Hours - AM start time, hours scheduled M - F but when work load is there it is hours a day = a - p = a - p = a - p Saturday as needed a - Functions ESSENTIAL Client out, position, align, and fit components together in accordance with Engineering drawings or schematics. Bolt, clamp, and tack weld parts to secure in position for welding. Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding. Set up equipment and weld parts using FCAW, GMAW and GTAW processes. Perform welding in accordance with Engineering approved welding procedures. Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts. Handle both ferrous and non ferrous materials. ADDITIONAL · Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities - This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Reporting Relationship - Reports to Production Supervisor Qualifications REQUIRED Preferred five () years experience fitting and welding with FCAW and GMAW processes on carbon and stainless steels. Minimum two () years experience fitting and welding with GTAW process on carbon and stainless steels. Must be able to pass AWS and welder performance qualifications in all positions on plate and pipe. Basic computer skills with Microsoft or similar software. Interview: Will need to pass the above tests during the interview to be considered certified Bring to the interview welding hood, steel toed boots, safety glasses if prescription, own equipment DESIRED Previous welder performance qualifications to AWS , AWS , or other indstry welding codes. Experience with alloy steel welding ( ). Experience with aluminum welding using GTAW process. Familiarity with subsea hardware and structures. Working Conditions This position is considered primarily SHOP/INDOOR WORK which is characterized as follows: Primarily indoors during the day and occasionally at night. Frequently working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment. When outdoors, humidity is frequently above % Noise is over decibels. Light is intense/glare. Occasional exposure to open fire/flames/sparks. Frequent exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases.
