This applies to all full-time employees working 35 hours a week.This position is a Rochester Regional Joint Board union position.JOB SUMMARY: This person is responsible for properly preparing, cooking, baking, and storing food items that are prepared in advance to establish consistent yields and food quality. He/she shall prepare all food items and serve quality food to our guests in a friendly and helpful manner in accordance with Parkhurst Dining recipes, standards and procedures under strict sanitary conditions following ServSafe and HAACP guidelines.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPrepare food according to Parkhurst recipes and enforce the “batch” cooking method.Ensure the quality of the food produced and maintain the quality and quantity of food throughout the service period, utilizing production sheets.Cut, weigh, and prepare food items following company procedures and recipes. Follow exact portion specifications.Rotate refrigerated products and dry good products in accordance with company-approved policies and procedures, always using the FIFO method.Maintain the proper temperatures for all foods and coolers and freezers.Wrap, label, date and store all food items properly to maintain freshness and quality under strict sanitary guidelines.Complete product cooling charts.Always maintain a clean and neat appearance and practice proper personal hygiene.Frequently and correctly wash hands whenever possible.Complete daily production sheets.Distribute all products to proper areas of service.Maintain an open line of communication with management, informing them of products and supplies needed.Follow cleaning schedules as provided by management, using the “clean as you go” technique.Assist fellow employees at every opportunity possible to ensure guests are always completely satisfied.Perform any other duties as assigned by management.Assist in other kitchen areas when needed and asked by fellow employees and management.
