Position Summary:

The Outbound Freight Clerk (OFC) handles the outbound Less than Truckload (LTL) and Full Truck Load (FTL) freight with oversight from the Production Manager (PM). The OFC assists the Inventory and Dock Clerks as needed by moving product and materials via pallet trucks, forklifts, or company vehicles for Direct Marketing Solutions (DMS).


Primary Responsibilities:

Processes all outbound LTL and FTL shipmentsReads and interprets shipping manifests, checks them for completeness, and verifies shipment counts against bills of lading.Enters data into shipping and receiving logs and completes shipping paperwork accurately.Conducts basic material handling, movement of inventory on pallets, and sorting and storing of inventory.Keeps files of shipping records, post weight, and shipping charges.Operates forklifts and pallet trucks to load and unload materials to and from trucks.Acts as a back-up for delivering Standard and First-Class mail to the nearby post officeMaintains company vehicles and reports any malfunctions or service needs.Responds to calls at the receiving door.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GEDOne to two years' related experienceValid driver's license2 Outbound Freight ClerkExperience with LTL and FTLUnderstanding of and ability to successfully utilize common carrier shipping methodsProficiency with Microsoft Office applications and various computer systemsExperience working with an ERP system or PrintStream preferred

Schedule: Monday-Friday Day Shift
