Security Officer: Non-Commissioned (Part Time/On Call)Located in several locations Outdoor SecurityStarting pay: $14 hourlyNon-Commissioned LicenseWeekends RequiredMUST have valid TX DLMUST be professionalThe Security Officer safeguards property by patrolling the premises and monitoring for theft, violence, safety issues, and/or disturbances through observation and reporting. The primary responsibility of the position is to deter crime through an authoritative presence.SECURITY OFFICER / SECURITY GUARD JOB REQUIREMENTS: At least 18 years oldMeet and maintain all licensing requirements for Security Guards, including passing a Criminal Background Check, as required by the Texas Department of Public Safety Private Security Bureau (PSB)Open availabilityCustomer service orientation Communicate effectively in English, orally and in writing Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle crisis situationsCritical thinking and sound judgmentVisual acuity and hearing ability to observe and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sourcesAbility to perform general physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and/or moving the entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, sitting, standing for long periods of time, and handling of materialsSome locations may require driving company vehicle. Driving Requirements:Must be at least 25 years of ageValid TX DL of 3+ yearsNo "At Fault" accidents or tickets in the past 3 yearsSECURITY OFFICER / SECURITY GUARD DUTIES:Provide a visual security presenceConduct regular rounds of industrial, commercial or residential premises to deter and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security of doors, windows and gatesPerform checks on windows, doors, gates, stairwells, fire exits, mechanical rooms and other areas as assigned by the client or that trespassers may use to gain illegal access and ensure that they are properly secureInspect equipment, if required, to ascertain that tampering has not occurred and/or is in working order as noted in the post ordersWrite reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences, including standing water or fire hazards, failure indicators on mechanical or electrical equipment, and temperature controlsRespond to alarms and report disturbancesContact police, paramedics or fire departments in cases of emergencyContact Property Manager as appropriate per customer protocolsInform persons of rule infractions or violations such as loitering, smoking, carrying forbidden articlesAssist in evacuation buildings in case of emergencyControl crowds as required by job siteOther duties as assigned by supervisor or required by contract with the customer based on their individual security needs
