Position Details Overview: Bay City Academy is a tuition-free public K-12 charter school with over 350 students in Bay City, Michigan. Our school creates a loving environment where kids feel safe so they can learn at a higher level. We value honesty and integrity and strive to build and demonstrate good character while transforming our students’ minds. Position: We seek a responsible, reliable elementary school teacher to join our Bay City Academy family. The position is required to teach elementary students (K-5th) in all subjects. Responsibilities of the Position: Subscribes to the motto: “Action Over Words, Service Over Self” Continuous ongoing learning and the development of the instructional craft Encourages, supports, and mentors ongoing learning in students Establishing a learning environment accountable for effective instruction, assessment Participates in professional development and maintains appropriate certification and qualifications Creates a positive, engaging classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriately responds to the maturity level and interest of the students Participates in district and school initiatives and adheres to building and district school improvement plans Identifies and responds to the learning style of all students and differentiates instruction to accommodate these styles Communicates regularly with students, parents, families, and the administration to advocate for student growth Conducts behavior to demonstrate collegiality and professionalism at all times Maintains regular, predictable attendance Other duties as assigned by the building administrator Requirements for the Position: Must hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university Background check/fingerprint scan Valid driver’s license Prior teaching experience preferred, but not required Must hold a valid State of Michigan elementary teacher certificate or endorsement 10/10 attitude Seeks positive impact with the kids Celebrates briefly and works hard daily Pay/Other: Competitive salary based on experience Staff uniform stipend every year Personal time off A healthy living stipend to promote fitness ($200 yearly stipend towards gym membership and other approved options) 401K Paid medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability Yearly classroom stipend for supplies
