Job Description---The Michael F. Price College of Business Graduate Programs OKC Office manages a number of graduate programs, including the Master of Business Administration, MS in Finance and MS in Entrepreneurship & Innovation programs. Advisors within the Graduate Programs Office are assigned programs and responsibilities as appropriate.Essential Duties:Performs all duties of an Academic Advisor as appropriate.Monitors the academic health and degree progression of assigned students, to include transcript review, enrollment tracking, and active outreach.Develops a rapport of trust with assigned students.Assists in new advisor onboarding and training.Mentor's new advisors.Responds to communications via phone and email in a timely manner. Engages in assessment and data collection.Represents unit at recruitment events.Participates in Academic Life Coaching.Liaison between University of Oklahoma and transfer institutions. Collaborates with faculty and provides feedback on curricular decisions and course needs.Engages in leadership or scholarly activity to further professional advising identity.Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position. Job Requirements---Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree, AND:Minimum of 36 months of experience as a full-time Academic Advisor in higher education.Skills:Effective verbal and written communicationProficiency in Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and ability to navigate and maintain databasesSkilled in communicating well and building rapport quickly with students, faculty, and staffAbility to work well in a diverse environmentDetail oriented for accuracy of data and informationHighly organized and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlinesDemonstrate ability to learn, interpret, and articulate complex policies and proceduresDemonstrate an advanced knowledge of state, university, college, and major policies and proceduresWillingness to work independently, collaboratively, and under supervisionCommitted to maintaining confidentiality and securing sensitive informationAdvertised Physical Requirements:Physical:Sitting for long periods of timeCommunicate effectivelyAbility to engage in repetitive motionEnvironmental:Standard office environmentFrequent exposure to pressure caused by deadlines and busy periodsAbility to work effectively with a wide range of constituenciesRequires contact with other departments and University officialsDepartmental Preferences:Master's degreeGraduate student advising experienceBackground in database management (Access)Experience in SLATE, SalesForce, and LaserFicheSpecial Instructions: If you are selected as a final candidate for this position, you will be subject to The University of Oklahoma Norman Campus Tuberculosis Testing policy.
