Job Title: Career and Transfer Center Coordinator Department/ Office Student Services Location: Main Campus- Argyle Reports To: Student Success Center Director FSLA Exempt Position Type: Full-Time Job Description Job Purpose: The Career and Transfer Center Coordinator will support the activities of the Career & Transfer Center, which provides hyflex (digital, cyber, and in person) services to support the Academic Student Services, the Institute for Workforce Education, Adult Education departments in the career and transfer needs of students as well as community supports. The Coordinator will assist in maintaining partnerships and collaborations with internal and external stakeholders for support of all students/alumni. The Coordinator will plan and facilitate career and other related events with the support of the Student Success Center Director. This is a grant-funded position. Responsibilities: Assist in the development, maintenance and delivery of a hyflex model of support services (career coaching, job search essentials, resume building, cover-letter writing, mock interviews, job applications), internships, practicums, and other career, transfer and support services. Mentor students in researching and obtaining effective materials for work readiness, educational advancement and other necessary supports. Participate in maintaining partnership and business opportunities with a wide variety of community and governmental agencies, educational institutions, employers, businesses and other groups to identify comprehensive needs and opportunities. Maintain up-to-date announcements, learning tools and other documentation online and on campus boards. Track activity and prepare reports on an ongoing basis. Attend meetings and workshops as required. Other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications BA or BS in Education, Communications, or related field. Bilingual in English and Spanish with ability to speak, read and write preferred. Experience in providing career-based and wraparound support services to students. Knowledge of career services and other job readiness services that students require. Ability to maintain cooperative and effective public relations with the community and partners. Knowledge of economic and workforce development practices, with an understanding of scope and the capacity of college and career resources to maintain deliverables at a high service level. Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including virtual presentation skills. Experience working with first generation students preferred. Some evening or weekend work may be required.
