Director of Digital Trading

About the Role The Director of Digital Trading is a key leadership role within BetMGM a leader in the iGaming and Sports Betting industry. This person will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the digital trading operations. This role combines a deep understanding of the iGaming and sports betting landscape with a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and a passion for leveraging technology to drive business growth. As the Director of Digital Trading, you will lead a team of experienced traders and analysts amongst BetMGM and our parent companies, working closely with them to develop and execute trading strategies across various digital platforms. Your primary objective will be to maximize profitability and mitigate risk by identifying and capitalizing on market opportunities. Responsibilities Responsible for the end-to-end Digital trading function of the US business across all sports. This commences at market creation, through price management and resulting.  Manage margin and responsibility for digital profitability.  Continue to grow product in terms of breadth of sports and leagues offered as well as depth of markets within event.  Responsible for surfacing and trading in play events held both in US and abroad.  Work with parent company, Entain, to enhance customer experience in Sports wagering and thus grow the number of active clients.  Manage and create standard operating procedures for US-based digital trading team Coordinate with global trading teams to deliver a world class consumer user experience Build, grow and create process in collaboration with our Business Intelligence.  Confer with VP of Retail Sports to refine algorithms for US centric Sports.  Work with Head of Retail sports to increase the crossover of retail clients to opening digital accounts. Provide a tailored BetMGM Rewards end experience for VIP customers and specifically MGM high value players.  Constant training and updating of skills of Trading department and peripheral teams. Ensure pricing is competitive, and distributed to all relevant markets efficiently Partner with Risk team to identify and comply with all regulations in relation to Responsible Gaming, anti-money laundering (AML), and payments. Coordinate with Compliance to ensure any/all BetMGM events obtain regulatory approval; understand variances in regulatory drivers across the US and Canada to more succinctly introduce controls. Ensure all trading requirements as it pertains to marketing, promotions, social media content are met, and maintained in an accurately and timely.  Must be able to stand or sit and operate computers and other technological devices for extended periods of time Bachelor’s Degree required; advanced degree preferred 10+ years’ experience in digital sports or racing betting, ideally as Head of Trading or similar; global knowledge a plus Ability to manage, communicate and present at senior executive and board level Be commercially experienced and show thorough understanding of what drives specific sportsbook KPIs Exceptional background and understanding of digital sports betting trading at a global level, ideally as Head of Trading or similar Ability to interact and influence product and marketing teams Experience and strong understanding of retail and/or casino sportsbook environment Analytical background and proven experience of leading data-driven initiatives to drive incremental margin performance within multiple sports In-depth knowledge of all major US-based sports, in play sports, and markets Strong understanding of sportsbook technology including algorithmic models, trading tools, mobile applications and third-party data feeds High attention to detail and process-driven in running projects and change initiatives Extensive knowledge of US betting market and customers Must be willing to relocate to the United States, specifically New Jersey Building BetMGM from the ground up takes effort, energy, and teamwork, but that’s what will make leading this industry all the more satisfying.
