Job Description JOB SCOPE:The Service Technician 2, Trainee is responsible for providing timely and quality repairs of customers' products while maintaining high customer service and demonstrating proficiency by the conclusion of the training period. Additionally, this position promotes and sells additional products and services that directly impact the profitability of the Company, including but not limited to Sears Protect Home Warranty and Clean & Maintains. This position repairs products in the customer's home.JOB SUMMARY:Responsible to learn all aspects of job responsibilities and processes by demonstrating proficiency by the conclusion of the training period. Responsible for repairing products, including Refrigerators (sealed systems), window AC units and Appliances.REPORTS TO:Team Lead Technician Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Demonstrates proficiency in all aspects of job responsibilities and processes by the conclusion of the training periodWorks as a dedicated team member to ensure fast, flexible, and expert service to every customerDemonstrates a sense of urgency to meet customer time commitmentsCompletes all Technician training elements successfully within required time framesMeets Technician Scorecard metrics and productivity goals as defined by the businessProvides knowledgeable and courteous repair serviceLooks continuously for methods to improve business performance and enhance the customer experienceOffers and sells the Company's members value added products and/or services during repair callsProvides direction to a Technical Helper, as applicableReceives truck stock at home if the Company vehicle is retained at the Technician's place of residence or other designated locationsMaintains truck inventory within the prescribed Company guidelines and standardsFollows the truck maintenance schedule, and keeps a clean, organized truckDrives to multiple customer homes daily to provide timely and quality repairsAdheres to all Company policies and procedures, including but not limited to the Code of Conduct and Technician Attendance PolicyPerforms other duties as assignedJOB REQUIREMENTS:1-2 years of related experienceLicense/certification in relevant fieldValid Driver License for the State of employmentUp to 100% travel18 years of age or olderREQUIRED SKILLS:Ability to accurately diagnose and repair appliances and equipment in the customer's home, including communication of diagnosis and needed repairs of products to the customer in a knowledgeable and courteous mannerAbility to select and use basic tools or instruments to assemble, adjust, calibrate, repair, or test various products; including knowledge of basic electrical principlesAbility to work variable and flexible hours, including required overtimeAbility to read, understand, and apply written text of a technical nature in order to answer questions, solve problems, and complete job tasksAbility to communicate effectively with Sears associates, Vendors, Third Party customers, and other outside sources (i.e., Routing)Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; Ability to read, write, and speak EnglishAbility to perform all services within manufacturer specifications and In-Home Technician Operating Policies including ability to read, understand, and navigate through information presented in diagram, blueprints, or other pictorial displays on the laptop computerAbility to perform all procedures and work instructions according to Company standardsAbility to use the iPhone to input, access, modify, or output informationAbility and/or willingness to offer and sell to the company s members value added products and/or services during repair callsAbility to apply appropriate use of security, maintenance, and safety procedures to protect Company and customer assets (truck, tools, parts, inventory, safety equipment)Ability to follow appropriate industry specific regulations related to the handling of hazardous materialsMust have Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) LicenseAbility to constantly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 lbs (frequently lift, carry, push or pull 50 lbs; occasionally lift, carry, push or pull 100 lbs)Ability to constantly reach outward, handle and finger objects, stand, walk, and sitAbility to frequently bend, squat, kneel, twist, turn, climb, and crawlAbility to occasionally reach above shoulderAbility to drive automatic transmission vehicleEffective Time Management SkillsAbility to work with minimal supervisionAbility to convey a positive image of the Company in all actions and behaviorsPREFERRED SKILLS:High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Years Experience 1 - 2 Years Experience Travel Requirements Road Warrior (75% or more) Country United States Work-In City Roanoke Work-In State VA Work-In Postal Code 24013 Business Sears Home Services - In Home Job Function Repair/Installation Employment Category Regular, Full-time Compensation Range N/A Additional Compensation Explanation N/A EEO/EOE Footer Equal Opportunity Employer / Disability / Vet.
