A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A COOK As a Cook, you play a vital role in ensuring students receive nutritious meals during the school day. You also assist the culinary team with preparing food for banquets and sporting events as required. After reviewing the needs of the day with the supervisor on duty, you get right to work. Your reliability and flexibility make you a valuable asset, whether you're cooking during the day or assisting with evening and weekend shifts. When not actively engaged in food preparation, you help with maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen by wiping down surfaces and ensuring supplies are properly stored. You’re passionate about providing nourishment to young minds, and it shows in your outstanding work Responsibilities As a Cook, you play a vital role in ensuring students receive nutritious meals during the school day. Preferred Qualifications ● A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under NMS’ vehicle insurance policy Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Weather: Indoor/Outdoor (Occasional exposure to extreme weather) Noise level: Moderate Office conditions: Pace of work environment: Medium Customer Interaction: High Description of environment: School kitchen Frequently required to walk and stand. Occasionally required to lift, pull and push. Rarely in cramped or confined spaces and climbing. Physical requirements: Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
