Planet Interactive is looking for a Technical Production Artist to join our well-known retail brand on a 6-month contract This role is 40 hours per week and will be hybrid onsite in Beaverton, OR.

The Technical Production Artist will collaborate with Design, Product Management, PCC, materials and manufacturing to effectively execute on product development & fit goals deliverables.

Technical Production Artist Responsibilities:
  • Support the fit and construction from initial concept through to commercialization of styles to lead the on time development and delivery according to critical dates, product specification, sustainability, performance and profitability goals. 
  • Help coordinate fit sessions, take notes and support the larger Technical Design team to complete tech packs for the Product Creation Center (Asia) teams.
  • Track and facilitate prototyping for small style count with low/mid complexity.
  • Utilize pre-existing foundational knowledge of patterns, garment construction, and graphic execution to convey comments through both written and verbal communication.
  • Identify and communicate basic fit issues and have an understanding of graded nests/markers.
  • Seek out resources internally to continue fit / pattern education through trainings, mentorship and special projects.
  • Keep abreast of market trends, team goals, new technologies and consumer needs throughout the development process
  • Engage appropriately to ensure projects are completed within corporate guidelines and goals for all facets of product creation.
Technical Production Artist Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in apparel design, textile science or related field. 
  • Two years additional product creation experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • 2+ years technical design experience in the apparel industry, which includes the apparel development process from inception through production including pattern making, grading, construction, materials, costing, manufacturing and quality.
  • Experience interpreting design intent.
  • Experience writing product specs and construction standards instructions.
  • Experience using Adobe Illustrator, Flex PLM, CAD Pattern Design software (Optitex) and 3D software (Clo/Browzwear) highly desired.
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time (domestic and international).
