The company delivers trusted, innovative, and tailored solutions that support some of the world's most in demand and fastest-growing industries.Controls Specials Technician – LaPorte, TX 1st shift: 7am – 4pm Starting pay: $43.32 **Responsibilities: ** Demonstrate knowledge of plant and process safety rules, safe operating methods, and good housekeeping standards Respond to any equipment downtime issues in the plant, both mechanical and electrical, and establish any required resources both internal and outside, to assist in resolving issues quickly. Train and develop the plant maintenance technicians to increase their ability to understand and troubleshoot controls related issues in the plant. Debug and make PLC/Robot/HMI program changes to improve existing automated processes. Communicate actions taken to repair the machine to the Operator and/or Manager. Recommend and assist in the selection of suppliers for capital equipment. Install and wire automation equipment based on electrical design schematics. Communicate effectively with team members, corporate engineers, vendors, and internal customers. Ensure the completion dates for all project assignments are met. Manage equipment improvement projects in the plant. Install, repair, upgrade and maintain electrical/electronic equipment used in the manufacturing process. This position will also be responsible for assisting in or performing mechanical repairs when required. Requirements: This position requires a strong electrical, mechanical and process control skill set. ASS in Mechatronics, Electrical Controls Engineering, or related technical programs or relative experience. Ability to work on AC systems up to 480V Significant experience with process control systems, control theory and Digital Multi-Meter testing tools. Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project locations if needed. Ability to read mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings. High level of PLC/Robot troubleshooting (programming experience a plus) with strong electrical and mechanical aptitude. Ability to troubleshoot and modify PLCs, including Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs. Strong teamwork capabilities, operating in a multi-function environment to collectively improve operations and resolve related issues. Hands-on approach to engineering both mechanically and electrically. Proficient in Microsoft based computer systems. Experience with CMMS systems. Experience with Allen Bradley Studio 5000, RS Logix 5000, RS Logix 500, and FactoryTalk View development, Power Flex configuration and troubleshooting. Experience with Seimens Step 7, Step 5, SIMATIC Manager, SIMATIC WinCC and PCS 7. 3 – 5 years industrial controls experience recommended. Ability to troubleshoot, replace, and modify HMIs, Servo Drives, and VFDs. A working knowledge of communication networks (Ethernet, ProfNet, Profibus). Physical ability to stoop, bend, climb and work at elevations including from lifts and ladders; as well as lift to 50 pounds.
