Job Summary The Assistant Director of Housing Operations and Guest Services will be responsible for leading the hiring, training, and supervision of front desk student assistants to provide a centralized customer service model for University Housing. This position will be responsible for the regular supervision of 75+ institutional student assistants as well as the overall management of front desk operations with University Housing. This position will also be responsible for coordinating the use of the residence halls for summer camp and conference operations including scheduling and billing of groups in conjunction with the Division of Continuing Education and the Office of Special Events and Protocol. This position has been identified by Federal Law (Jeanne Clery Act) as a Campus Security Authority (CSA), with significant student and campus responsibilities. CSA's are obligated to report crimes reported to them which occurred on campus, in public areas bordering campus, and in certain non-campus buildings owned or controlled (leased) by the University. Responsibilities Oversee the front desk operations of University Housing and ensure that all staff members provide customer service driven response, correspondence, and interactions with parents and students. Will work with hall staff to develop administrative processes as part of front desk operations to ensure accurate auditing of keys, access cards, and other student resources at the residence hall desk areasSupports the Associate Director of Housing Facilities in daily operations affiliated with housing facility management. This includes but is not limited to, building walks, key management, work order follow up, and communication to students concerning facilities projects, concerns, etc.Utilize and maintain the StarRez database as needed for residence hall conference and front desk operationsIn collaboration with Residence Education, Residence Life, and the Department of Facilities Services, will lead the mid-semester health and safety room inspection process, including the establishment of communications with students and campus partnersHire, train, supervise, and evaluate approximately 2 graduate assistants, 75 desk assistants, and 15+ conference assistants including annual and on-going training, bi-weekly payroll, and progressive disciplineCoordinate University Housing's support of Admissions based recruitment events such as daily tours and coordinating with Residence Hall staff to locate tour rooms and recognize students who participate in toursCoordinate summer camp and conference operations with the Office of Special Events and Protocol, the Division of Continuing Education, and the Division of Facilities Services including the scheduling of groups, invoicing of housing affiliated charges, and providing upper level on-call support to triage issuesUtilize assessment data to inform planning and decision-making and assist in the development of University Housing policies and procedures within functional responsibilities Required Qualifications Educational RequirementsBachelor's DegreeRequired ExperienceThree (3) or more years of related work experience Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational QualificationsPost-Master's courseworkPreferred ExperienceFive (5) or more years of work-related experienceExperience in residential operations Proposed Salary $55,126 - $70,307 Required Documents to Attach ResumeCover LetterTwo (2) Professional References Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities ABILITIESConsistently exhibit engaging customer serviceAbility to support various constituencies served by the UniversityProven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office, Google, and/or applications as required for specific positionKNOWLEDGEAdhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student successSKILLSEffective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills Apply Before Date January 31, 2026Application review may begin on January 6, 2026.
