Payroll Specialist Long Island, NY$60K– $80K (DOE)Full-Time | OnsitePosition Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our finance team. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing, compliance, and reporting. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of hands-on payroll experience, ensures employees are paid accurately and on time, and thrives in a fast-paced, professional environment.The Ideal Candidate 2–4 years of payroll experience (multi-state preferred)Proficient in payroll platforms such as ADP, Paychex, Gusto, or QuickBooks PayrollStrong understanding of payroll tax, garnishments, and compliance (FLSA, federal/state laws)Excellent organizational and analytical skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracyDiscreet and trustworthy when handling confidential informationStrong communication and problem-solving abilitiesKey Responsibilities Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll cycles with accuracy and timelinessReview timesheets, verify hours, and calculate wages, deductions, and adjustmentsMaintain and update employee payroll records and related documentationManage off-cycle payments, bonuses, and terminationsEnsure compliance with all state and federal tax requirementsPrepare and file payroll tax reports, W-2s, and 1099sRespond to payroll-related inquiries and resolve discrepanciesCollaborate with HR and accounting teams to ensure payroll accuracy and reporting integrityStay current on payroll laws, tax rates, and regulatory changesQualifications & Must-Haves 2–4 years of hands-on payroll experienceStrong proficiency in ADP, Paychex, or similar payroll systemsAdvanced Excel and data management skillsKnowledge of payroll tax compliance and multi-state payroll preferredExceptional accuracy, time management, and confidentialityBenefits Competitive salary ($60K–$80K, DOE)401(k) with employer contributionHealth, dental, and vision insurancePaid time offStable weekday schedule (Mon–Fri, 8-hour shift)Apply Now Send your resume to [Insert Contact/Email/Link] to be considered.Would you like me to add an Indeed screening question (e.g., “How many years of experience do you have processing payroll using ADP or Paychex?”) to help filter qualified candidates? Email your resume to: Nechi@maiplacement.com
