Maintain accurate records and submit required student attendance and grade reports by published deadlinesModel professional conduct and enforce student conduct policies as prescribed Participate in all required convocation activities and graduation events Maintain required memberships/licensures/certifications per department and accrediting body standardsAssume duties, including committee assignments, over and above assigned classes and office hours as requested by the department chair or instructional deanDemonstrate commitment to the college through actively participating in TJC-sponsored events and activities beyond assigned classes and office hours as appropriateResponsibilities to the CommunityNetwork with community members and others to promote the TJC program and its studentsExhibit conduct that reflects the mission, vision, and values of the institution and the communityCOMPETENCIESDiscipline- or Position-Specific Responsibilities/CompetenciesThe individual must be qualified to teach all aspects of surveying technologyInstructor’s duties will emphasize teaching the technologies supporting surveying today, including current surveying equipment and surveying CAD software. Demonstrate initiative in helping to design, implement, and maintain a package of program-specific software applications to be installed on classroom and faculty computers, as well as surveying equipment used in the application component of lecture/lab courses.Collect, analyze, and report assessment data related to course learning outcomes, program student outcomes, and program educational objectives.Adopt textbooks and learning resources for each course that ensure students will have the appropriate resources necessary for student success.Ensure online and hybrid courses are in alignment with industry best practices and compliant with any distance education requirements of Tyler Junior College and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
