We are FOR NYC: creating space for our community, where people's questions are valued, and where our neighbors are known, loved, and cared for.Position SummaryThe Elementary Sunday School Teacher works under the Elementary Manager and Children's Ministry Director to teach our elementary students grades K-6 on Sunday mornings during the services on Sundays from 8:30am-1:00pm (time in between services) and may include up to 2 hours of prep during the week. All lesson plans are provided by the Elementary Manager. This role does NOT require weekly lesson planning and may also include hallway safety monitoring, answering parent questions, running check-in, greeting families and floating between classrooms as needed.Job Description Teaching Study the provided lesson plans well in advance. Be prepared to teach upon arrival. Teach lessons in ways that are gospel-centered, biblical, and age-appropriateUtilize a variety of classroom management strategies in teaching Help set and clean up classrooms Hallway monitoringMonitor hallway for safety, answer parent questions, assist security. Running check-in, greeting and floating between classrooms.
