Position: Account Executive Location: Richmond, Virginia Type: Full-TimeSalary: $25,000 base salary plus uncapped commissionStyle Weeklyis searching for a motivated, innovative, and driven sales professional to join our team. As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for promoting and selling our premium advertising solutions across various platforms, including print, digital, social media, mobile, and experiential marketing.We are looking for a candidate who can strategically target key categories within Richmond and surrounding areas, focusing on acquiring new business while also renewing and expanding relationships with existing clients. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, vibrant environment and is eager for professional growth.Acquired by VPM in 2021, Style Weekly has been the region’s alternative voice in news, culture, arts, and creative thought since 1982. This weekly publication is known for its smart, witty, and tenacious coverage of Richmond. Responsibilities• Prospecting: Utilizes networking, phone calls, emails, drop-ins, and social media to identify potential clients with a focus on new business.• Relationship Building: Establishes and maintains strong client and agency relationships at all levels. Attend networking events and trade shows to expand your professional network.• Client Understanding: Adopts a consultative sales approach to understand the marketing objectives of clients.• Custom Solutions: Creates and presents customized print, digital, custom, and event marketing plans tailored to client needs.• Sales Achievement: Closes new business and consistently meet or exceed monthly sales goals.• Sales Cycle Management: Manages relationships throughout the entire sales cycle, from initial contact to the execution of client campaigns.• Account Management: Provides professional account management to ensure client retention.• Program Development: Works directly with the Publisher to develop custom programs for both existing and new clients.Qualifications • Experience: 2+ years in sales, media, advertising/creative agencies• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.• Marketing Knowledge: Familiarity with print advertising, social media, online display advertising, email marketing, branded content.• Organization: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.• Personal Traits: Must be loyal, honest, high-energy, driven, with a strong work ethic. A demonstrated self-starter is a must.• Technical Skills: High proficiency in MS Office.• Sales Mindset: A proactive approach and a willingness to engage in cold calling.• Team Culture: Adherence to our strict no-mean-people policy.
