Battery Applications Engineer

United States Höganäs, Powder Metallurgy Technologies (PMT) division is seeking candidates for a Battery Applications Engineer. This position would be remotely located in the US. About the position Develops and supports metal powder applications in the battery value chains. Responsible to build the knowledge and technology strategy for metal powders in the battery application value chains. Serves as a link between the metal powder products and the application of them in the battery chemistries. Provides support both internally and externally in the product development and application know-how. Candidates will be responsible for the following: Builds critical know how of metal powder use in existing and potentially new battery chemistries in alignment with the strategy. Secures competence to be able to evaluate market potential, competition and technical paths. Identifies and establishes open dialogue and cooperation with key customers and partners on technical topics to include technical management and lab testing. Interacts with customers to present and propose solutions and propose new developments. Supports business development with application understanding, making sure the right technical data and results are available to promote solutions. Identifies the required metal powder specifications. Works with the material development department and supports their needs by translating the application requirements into product requirements. Communicates and collaborates with business development/sales, product management, process development and material development departments. Maintains a safe working environment for themselves and others. Your profile The qualified and selected candidate will possess the following: Bachelor’s degree in engineering required, Master’s preferred, with a minimum of 5 years engineering experience, with 3 related to the battery industry with both lab and testing exposure. Chemistry background and/or downstream experience in battery manufacturing and packing preferred. Established battery industry contacts and networks preferred. International and cross-cultural business environment exposure with leadership and project management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present information effectively. Fluent in English communication Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office.
