(AB Electronics LLC has an opening in Danbury, CT) Process Engineer: Apply advanced engineering principles and processes to plan, conduct, and evaluate the assembly of complex electronic systems, including Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBA), Cable Assemblies, and Box build assemblies. Maintain ownership of processes related to Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and Plated Through Hole (PTH) technologies, ensuring procedures are optimized and compliant with industry standards such as IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620. Collaborate with production technicians and assemblers, providing clear guidance and ensuring compliance with established procedures to uphold quality and efficiency in assembly processes. Design, develop, and implement new processes to enhance production capacity and assembly quality, while continuously evaluating and modifying existing processes for improvement. Create, validate, and optimize programs for electronic assembly stations, ensuring seamless integration with manufacturing systems. Drive process improvements aimed at maintaining high-quality production standards while minimizing production cycle time and increasing throughput. Oversee preventive maintenance activities on critical electronic assembly equipment, ensuring consistent performance and minimizing downtime. Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective Action initiatives to address quality issues, ensuring long-term process improvement and customer satisfaction. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and create internal documentation based on customer-provided specifications for PCB and Cable assemblies, ensuring accuracy and clarity. Enforce adherence to ISO9001 and AS9100 quality management systems, ensuring all quality practices and procedures are meticulously implemented and followed. Assist in the preparation of budgets, capital expenditure proposals, and cost estimates for engineering projects, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Communicate project progress, technical issues, and equipment requirements to stakeholders in a timely and effective manner, ensuring smooth project execution. Act as a liaison with customers and vendors, providing technical expertise and ensuring smooth coordination throughout the project lifecycle. Utilize a working knowledge of electronic component pick-and-place programming, solder paste silk screen processes, stencil design, and convection solder reflow oven profiling to optimize production processes. Interpret and apply complex process documentation, including travelers, routing sheets, component data sheets, and detailed work instructions, to ensure consistent and high-quality assembly. Requires Bachelors in Industrial Engineering, or closely related engineering field. Requires any knowledge of or university coursework involving (1) Facility Planning and Design; (2) Lean manufacturing; (3) Operations Research; and (4) Project Management.
