This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious professional to contribute to the development and progression of our Production Planning team and global Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) processes and systems. Roles & Responsibilities: As a Production Planner at Abcam, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely delivery of our products to customers. Your responsibilities will include: Creating efficient daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules, considering available resources such as material, labor, and equipment. Leading initiatives to resolve production backlog, back orders, and material supply constraints. Identifying opportunities to enhance inventory utilization for optimal delivery performance. Ensuring planning schedules align with customer and business needs, adhering to best-in-class on-time, in-full delivery (OTIF). Collaborating with the Global Supply Planning team to report on planned execution and capacity issues. Working closely with the Demand Execution team to strategically prioritize customer orders. Making recommendations for KPI measurement and data gathering improvements. Troubleshooting and root causing system and process issues, initiating improvement projects, and coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders for timely delivery. Providing support, training, and coaching to supply chain team members. Qualifications To thrive in the role of Production Planner at Abcam, we are seeking candidates with a degree in a related discipline or equivalent work experience. Your professional background should include significant experience in a manufacturing supply chain planning environment, or hands-on involvement in biological or pharmaceutical manufacturing, demonstrating a solid understanding of planning issues. A minimum of 2 years in a supply chain role is essential, showcasing your expertise in navigating the complexities of supply chain management. In addition to your academic and professional qualifications, we value individuals with strong leadership and influence skills. Your familiarity with supply chain planning aspects of ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle, is crucial to excel in this role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel, is expected. Your track record should highlight your ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize tasks, and efficiently multitask to achieve results. Successful candidates will bring a fresh perspective to challenging and complex supply constraints, applying different planning methodologies effectively. We are particularly interested in candidates with an excellent understanding of LEAN and Continuous Improvement (CI) principles. Your expertise in initiating and supporting significant change initiatives aligns with our commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in the life sciences industry.
