We believe that success starts with a sound team and that an inclusive and diverse workplace moves us all forward.WHAT YOU’LL DOThe Installation Technician 2 will perform installation tasks for AVI-SPL contracted projects including but not limited to: cable pulls, cable terminations, system equipment and components, rack fabrication and wiring, layout for equipment and metal fabrication. The Installation Technician 2 could be expected to lead and direct installation crews on less complex projects per project directives and requirements by coordinating and reporting progress to Project Manager ensuring projects achieve time, scope, budget, quality, safety and customer satisfaction requirements.Day-To-Day Responsibilities:Perform installation tasks and client training as noted in job summary based on project scope and directivesDemonstrate job site leadership and oversee Level 1 Technicians quality of workRead and interpret project system schematics and architectural/construction blueprintsUse hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors along with various other AV systems installation related taskTest point to point cabling and functionality of systemsTrack, manage and secure all associated equipment and tools on jobsiteWork with office staff to initiate return material authorizations as neededCommunicate daily job site status to the Project ManagerAct as customer liaison on site per project scope and directives - direct on-site change requests to Project Manager for confirmation and final directionCommunicate and coordinate with other trades on siteTravel to various job sites requiredPerform additional tasks, responsibilities, and projects as needed to support the team and organization, ensuring flexibility in adapting to evolving priorities and objectives.Items to Consider:AVI-SPL reserves the right to alter work hours and work location as necessary. Work hours may vary based on client requirements and may include travel to various locations in support of the account.This position will generally work on customer sites and may deal with a construction site type of work environment.WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FORMust-Haves:Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and vendors; with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely, focused on customer success and satisfaction.Intermediate understanding of audio-visual systems, including projectors, screens, speakers, microphones, video conferencing equipment, digital signage, and control systems.Intermediate proficiency in installing, terminating, and troubleshooting low-voltage cabling (e.g., HDMI, CAT5e/6, fiber optic), and experience with conduit runs, cable trays, and other wiring methods.Intermediate ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues with audiovisual equipment and systems.Intermediate understanding of network infrastructure and how it integrates with audiovisual systems (e.g., IP-based systems, streaming, cloud-based services). Ability to lead site teams on small projects.Ability to lead site teams on small projects.Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner.Ability to work and think independently to meet deadlines.Intermediate knowledge and use of specific test equipment for required applications.Intermediate knowledge and application of industry installation safety codes and standards.Ability to advise Project Manager on installation related concepts affecting project planning, scheduling, and budgeting.Ability to advise Project Engineer in developing solutions to complex technical issues.Ability to assist Programmer in loading and testing code on site.Valid Driver’s License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL Driving Privileges standardsMinimum of 2 - 4 years of audiovisual installation experience requiredMinimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required.Nice-To-Haves:Formal education in Audio Visual, Electronics or related field preferredExternal Training:Valid and current AVIXA CTS General Certification preferredSpecific industry specific and manufacturer training / certifications to meet AVI-SPL skill/ability requirementsOSHA 30-Hour Construction CourseAbility to obtain formal approved clearances (Government or system specific) may be requiredWHY YOU’LL LIKE WORKING HEREMedical benefits, including vision and dentalPaid holidays and PTOEnjoyable and dynamic company cultureTraining and professional development opportunitiesMORE ABOUT USAVI-SPL is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
