Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in Mount Laurel, NJ is hiring a dedicated and enthusiastic Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency/ ICU team on an overnight shift (Credentials not required but preferred)We offer a generous sign- on bonus for qualified applicantsSchedule:We have flexible scheduling options to best fit YOUR needs We currently have the following overnight shifts available:Sunday, Monday Tuesday: 8pm - 8amThursday, Friday, Saturday: 8pm - 8am Benefits & Compensation: Compensation is based on experience, skill level, and credentials Ranging from $22 - 32/hr.Shift differential for overnights (7pm – 7am, at an additional $1.50/hr).Medical, dental, vision, 401k, short & long- term disability options, pet discounts, generous PTO, CE allowance, uniform allowance, & moreSign- on bonus for qualified applicants Position Overview:The purpose of the position is to provide primary support to the ER doctors with any and all treatments and procedures, while ensuring the best quality of care possible to our patients. The Certified Veterinary Technician must pay attention to detail and maintain very high standards of cleanliness and care. Must be able to communicate well with coworkers to ensure overall accuracy and satisfaction.About You:Veterinary Technician with strong technical skills (to include placing IV catheters, venipuncture, administering premedication, anesthesia induction & monitoring, patient preparation, surgical nursing, and perioperative nursing care, radiographs, etc.) You can easily adapt to the different needs of each patient and are able to remain composed during stressful and emotional situations. You are looking for a career and are passionate about learning and growing in the industry and caring for animals.Key Responsibilities:To provide care to incoming emergencies with any and all needs, including but not limited to:To provide care to incoming emergencies and hospitalized patients with any and all needs, including but not limited to:Triage/patient assessment, obtain vital data, IVC placement, phlebotomy, intubations, administering injections, radiology, laboratory, basic anesthesia (preparation/assistance/monitoring), RECOVER CPRAdminister basic first aid as neededAdminister treatments and monitor status of critical care and intensive care patientsProvide stabilization support (temp, BP, fluid resuscitation, etc) to incoming emergenciesDocument and communicate patient information accurately into patient medical records Communicate patient status, changes in status, patient report information accurately and thoroughly with doctor Maintain clean, dry and comfortable surroundings for all patientsSet up and maintain equipment as needed, knowledge of use of monitoring/diagnostic equipmentSafely and effectively restrain patientsRecord medical history/data accuratelyPrepare and administer medications and treatments as prescribed by doctorsCollect, prepare, label and test laboratory specimens as neededProvide assistance with patient euthanasia and aftercare of remains in a timely mannerProvide basic client education on nutrition, home care, zoonotic diseases, medication administration, post-operative care, and all other hospital recommendations/protocols, as directed by a veterinarianRe-stock and maintain cleanliness of ICU, treatment area, exam rooms, lab, pharmacy, radiology, isolationTrain less experienced staff members on proper policies, procedures, technical skills, and medical informationCross-train to assist in other areas of the hospital as neededExperience & Job Requirements:Minimum of 2 years’ experience (preferably in ER or ICU)Credentialed Veterinary Technician preferred but not requiredHigh school diploma or GEDBachelor's degree preferred but not requiredFamiliarity with CPR and rescue breathingAbility to take direction from a variety of people under various situations and accurately follow instructionsExcellent communication/people skillsMust have team-oriented attitude and promote positive culture Ethos Veterinary Health offers a comprehensive benefits program including medical, dental, vision, a 401k with employer match, and paid time off (including sick time) for all eligible employees.
