Job Summary The Temporary employee will support Lakeside Cafe as a Dining Services Assistant on the Statesboro Campus. The Dining Services Assistant plays a key role in providing a clean, efficient, and welcoming dining experience across Georgia Southern's residential dining halls. Depending on the assignment, responsibilities include food serving, maintaining dining room cleanliness, and dishroom operations. This position supports the overall mission of delivering excellent service to students, faculty, staff, and guests. Responsibilities Serves food in a courteous and efficient mannerMaintains food quality, temperature, and portion controlSet up, restock, and clean food stationsAssists customers with food choices and questionsFollows food safety and sanitation regulationsGreets and assists guestsCleans and sanitize tables, chairs, and countersRestocks condiments, utensils, and napkinsSweep and mop floors, empty trash and recyclingMaintains a clean, organized dining spaceSorts, rinses, and loads dishes into dish machinesOperates dishwashing equipmentRestocks clean kitchenware and utensilsMaintains cleanliness in the dishroom and workstationsFollows proper sanitation and safety proceduresShift Specifics20 hours per weekFlexible with schedule of availability Required Qualifications Educational RequirementsHigh School Diploma or equivalent Proposed Salary $10.00 per hour Required Documents to Attach ResumeTwo (2) Professional References Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities ABILITIESConsistently exhibit engaging customer serviceAbility to support various constituencies served by the UniversityProficiency with computer and Microsoft Office applications software including word processing, spreadsheets, and databasesKNOWLEDGEAdhere to University policies and procedures to meet Institutional goals and support University's mission for student successSKILLSEffective communication (verbal and written), organizational and human relations skills Apply Before Date January 23, 2026
