Location: Austin Remote: Remote Type: Direct Hire Job #19622 100% Remote Director of IT Engineering The Director of IT Engineering will lead a global engineering organization of ~15 remote Microsoft-focused cloud, platform, DevOps, and endpoint engineers supporting a multinational specialty-finance retailer. This role oversees distributed operations across a LATAM technology center and a Cloud Service Provider, driving the maturity, reliability, and scalability of a modern hybrid-cloud environment. Key Responsibilities Technical & Cloud Engineering Leadership Oversee engineering teams delivering Microsoft cloud and platform solutions including M365, Entra ID, Exchange, Copilot Pro, Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS), Azure WAF, Windows Server, RHEL, Oracle WebLogic, and Cloud FinOps practices. Lead modernization and optimization of an enterprise Microsoft stack through owned-tenant management, CSP co-management, and offshore MSP engagements. Direct endpoint engineering strategy leveraging SCCM, Intune, Entra Identity, Windows Autopilot, Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike, and BeyondTrust. Guide the integration and operation of Workday interfaces and other enterprise SaaS platforms. DevOps, SRE, & Automation Establish and scale an internal DevOps practice, enabling SRE functions and CI/CD pipelines for microservices architectures. Advance Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and modern deployment pipelines. Drive automation, standardization, and continuous improvement across cloud, infrastructure, and application engineering. Operational Excellence & ITSM Lead Change, Incident, and Problem Management processes using Ivanti Neurons ITSM, JIRA, Confluence, PagerDuty, Datadog, Dynatrace, and Azure Log Analytics. Ensure high availability, performance, and resilience across cloud services, production systems, and global endpoints. Partner with Finance on Cloud Services FinOps to monitor usage, optimize spend, and forecast growth. Qualifications 10+ years of progressive IT engineering experience, including leadership of globally distributed teams. Deep expertise in Microsoft cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and enterprise endpoint management. Experience scaling hybrid-cloud platforms, implementing infrastructure automation, and managing complex operational environments. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage executives, security leaders, offshore partners, and business stakeholders. Background in high-availability, compliance-driven, or multi-region enterprise environments. #TECHIND
