Engineering Office Manager

Are we the road to your future?We are currently searching for an experienced Engineering Office Manager to support our West Gulf region located in Brentwood, TN. This position is responsible for complex engineering design tasks as well as marketing, business development, and client contact. To be considered for this position, applicants musthave, at minimum, a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Tennessee and 15 years of engineering design experience.What you’ll be doing:Principal in Charge for all aspects of our Brentwood, TN office (marketing and operations)Serves as the senior level engineering technical expert, responsible for roadway design for our Tennessee locationsDeveloping Teams for project pursuits; working with marketing staff to develop proposals; attend presentations and interviewsCoordinating with subconsultantsSupervising, developing, and growing staffManage transportation projects to meet financial and technical requirementsLeading in the development of project designs and directing junior engineers, designers, and CADD technicians to successfully execute and deliver project work, while implementing client focused strategiesApplying established and well-defined engineering techniques, procedures, policies, or standardsActive in Business Development; marketing and client relationsUnderstands and adheres to assigned phase and task schedules and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective completion of projectAdheres to company standards for quality assurance and quality control as defined in the quality manualCoordinate with other Volkert Office Managers to work sharePrepare and deliver technical presentationsAdditional activities include managing the design and delivery of projects profitably while being actively involved in design issues and troubleshootingWhat you need to have:B.S. or M.S. in Civil engineering from ABET accredited engineering programLicensed Tennessee P.E.10+ years of progressive transportation/roadway experience5+ years of experience in management of engineering and support staffPossess a strong understanding of project management The ability to manage AND assist in the production of design deliverablesExperience working with TDOTAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment.
