That's what we do every day.The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.The Ground Systems Support (GSS) organization is looking for a Project Manager in the Construction Management / Corrosion Control (CMCC) Department with a background in construction, fabrication, and corrosion control coating NACE (National Association of CorrosionEngineers)experience.Thisindividualwillprovideoversightandassistanceinmanagingallaspectsofconstruction/corrosion control projects for COMET and lead special projects and project teams as assigned by management to support strategic goals andobjectives.WithintheGroundSystemsSupportDirectorate,theCMCCProjectManagerpositionwillassumeoverallresponsibilityforthe following:·ProvideProjectManagementoversightandassistinmanagingallaspectsofconstruction/corrosioncontrolprojectsincludingProject Scope, Risks, Budgets, Estimates, Schedules, and Schedule Changes.·ProvideProjectManagementoversightincoordinationwithConstructionManagers/NACEwhooverseeconstructionandcorrosion control Projects.·Demonstrateunderstandingof,andassistin,projectschedulingdevelopmentandresourceloadingtocaptureallworkperformed.·PrepareorrequestPeriodOfPerformance(POP)Extensions,RequestsforInformation(RFI)onengineeringdrawings,Lettersof Technical Direction (LTD), and other technical documents, contract mechanisms, etc., in execution of construction / corrosion projects.·Host/FacilitateProjectTeammeetings.·CreateappropriateStatementsofWork(SOW)foroutsourcedworkandbePOCforandworkanyissuesinconcertwithCOMET Project Managers, Engineering, Logistics, Launch Equipment Services (LES) Shop, and outside vendors.·Exercisesoundjudgementanddemonstrateexcellentskillsinworkingwithotherorganizations,NASAandCOMETcustomers, Contracts, and outside vendors.Performotherdutiesasassigned,includingon-goingorone-offspecial projectsHere's What You'll Need:BS inEngineeringortechnicalequivalentplusten(10)yearsofrelatedtechnicalexperienceinconstructionand corrosion control practices.Highly desirable to be active member and have current National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE/AMPP)Level II.Abilitytoreasonlogicallyandcreatively,developsalternativesandutilizestechniquestoresolvesemi-complexoperational and coating problems.Experienceinprojectmanagementprinciples,facilityandgroundhardwaredesign/buildprojectsandprojectcostaccountingis mandatory.ExperiencewithcomputerdatabasesystemstolearnthecorrosioncontrolCorrBasesystem,coatinginspections,andclassificationof coating conditions and maintenance requirements.Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects without missing deadlines or sacrificing accuracy and qualityMust be self-motivated, demonstrate understanding of program and project priorities, and be able to work highly independentExperience interpreting engineering drawings;
