Our Long Island City store serves as the heart of our community, hosting tournaments, events, and gatherings that bring players together both in person and online.Job Description:Gamer's Choice (GC) is searching for a new TCG Grader team member to authenticate and grade trading cards (sports, non-sports, and trading card game (TCG) cards alike). Ideal candidates will possess comprehensive industry knowledge of trading cards, non-sports, and TCG collectibles, be an expert in authentication and grading standards, and be able to add experience and depth to the GC Grading Team. Individuals should be detail-oriented, have strong organizational skills, be able to focus on cards for extended periods, and be able to work in a positive team environment. Preferred applicants will have one to three years of grading experience as a professional, dealer, or collector.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as an expert on GC's card authentication and grading standardsServe as an expert in GC's processing procedures and protocolsAuthenticate and evaluate the condition of trading cards (sports, non-sports, or TCG, depending on business needs) Maintain individual daily grading/production goalsImprove knowledge and skill with active research and experienceStay up-to-date with current industry developments and news, especially as it pertains to new counterfeits and alteration methods circulating the marketMaintain the quality of the grading productEngage with and participate in monthly meetings and re-training sessions as needed to help further develop skills and enhance product knowledgeResearch, identify, and authenticate collectible trading cards and sports cardsAssesses the condition, quality, and grade the item using established standards Utilize the internal software system to enter all applicable grading informationQualificationsTyping, mouse work, and sitting and looking at a computer for long periods of timeThe ability to handle high-value, delicate items with careThe ability to routinely lift, carry, and move materials up to 40 poundsBeing able to sit for extended periods of timeComprehensive knowledge of Trading Cards is requiredExpansive knowledge as it relates to card printing, including printing processes, variants, and errors1 – 3 years of direct grading experience as a card grader or as a dealer/collector with extensive grading submission historyDetail-oriented with the ability to detect counterfeit and altered cards with a high level of accuracyStrong organizational skills to achieve production goals and maximize productivityBenefits:Health, dental, and vision insurancePaid time off401kEmployee DiscountsGym Membership ReimbursementsCompensation: $25.00 - $35.00 per hourEEO/AAP Statement: Gamer's Choice is an equal opportunity employer.
