The Opportunity We are collaborating with multiple companies in East Lansing seeking experienced Automation Engineers. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement industrial automation solutions for manufacturing processes. Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and industrial robots. Optimize existing automation systems to improve efficiency, productivity, and reliability. Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to integrate new technologies. Develop and maintain technical documentation for automation systems, schematics, and procedures. Conduct root cause analysis for automation system failures and implement corrective actions. Ensure all automation solutions comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements. Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMI/SCADA development. Experience with industrial robotics programming, setup, and integration. Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet). Ability to design, troubleshoot, and commission complex automation control systems. Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical field. Bonus Qualifications Experience with industrial robotics programming and integration (e.g., Fanuc, Kuka, ABB, Universal Robots). Proficiency with machine vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence). Familiarity with data acquisition, historian, and analytics platforms (e.g., Ignition MES, SQL, Python for data). Knowledge of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profinet) and cybersecurity principles for OT environments.
