These faculty will complement a strong cohort of existing faculty in AI and many more whose work leverages AI to advance teaching and research; and supports the launch of the B.S. in Artificial Intelligence in Fall 6.Position: Assistant Professor, IST/AIPosition Summary: The School of Business Administration (SBA) at Penn State Harrisburg invites applications for a tenure-line faculty position in Artificial Intelligence (AI) located in Middletown, Pennsylvania. The appointment will be at the Assistant Professor rank and will begin in July of 6 at the Harrisburg campus.SBA is home to Penn State’s newly launched undergraduate . The successful candidate will be expected to conduct cutting-edge interdisciplinary research; teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses, including residential, online, and/or hybrid courses; supervise and mentor students; actively pursue external funding to support research activities; engage in service activities at the college and university levels; and collaborate with faculty across the university and industry partners.The successful candidate will advance knowledge of AI through high-impact research, teaching, designing, creating, and evaluating AI systems that support human goals, needs, and/or values. Areas of interest include (but are not limited to) human–AI collaboration or teaming, AI ethics, human-centered and socially responsible AI, intelligent interfaces for complex or dynamical systems (e.g., digital health, autonomous systems), and/or transformative AI applications that tackle major societal and business challenges. The successful candidate will complement our existing strengths, and bring expertise in core areas of AI, or bridge fundamental research in AI with transformative applications in business, healthcare, security, critical infrastructure, public policy, and/or social sciences.The School of Business Administration is AACSB-accredited.
