WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

• Opportunity to work with global Engineering leaders and other Lab Managers to establish global lab testing procedures and strategy to meet the current and future state product roadmap needs.

• Opportunity to drive lab digitization and automation with new lab technologies & methods that improve Lab efficiency & accuracy.

• Responsibility to direct, supervise, & assist all global testing activity for the Electrical Fasteners and Solutions Segment of nVent, and ensure efficiency, timeliness, & accuracy of all product testing.

• Responsibility to manage, coach and hire lab personnel that become a high functioning team reflecting nVent's Values: Innovation & Adaptability, Customer First, Accountability for Performance, Positive Energy, Respect & Teamwork, and Absolute Integrity

• Lead continuous improvement activities and Identify capital investments to improve testing capability and capacity while improving safety and productivity

• Establish and track KPIs that can be reported internally to drive continuous improvement.

• Collaboration with Technology, Quality, Supply, Product Management, Approvals & other functions to ensure the Lab satisfies the business needs for testing, product certification, and other Lab related activities.

• Management of a Lab Quality System and 3rd Party Lab Certifications such as UL's DAP or CSA's CPC programs.

• Accountability for overall Lab working environment, ensuring neatness, proper layout & properly operating equipment including regular calibration.

• New equipment and software evaluation, acquisition & installation.

• 10% or less travel, some international potential.

YOU HAVE:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred or extensive experience in relevant field

• 5+ years' experience working in a product testing lab environment

• Knowledge of relevant global codes and standards (i.e. UL, CSA, ANCE, ANSI, IEC, NEMA, ISO)

• Experience with LabVIEW or other productivity accelerator platform for test development

• Ability to interpret product standards and regulations

• Experience managing projects with effective verbal, written, and presentation communication skills

• Ability to collaborate with others to arrive at conclusions using compromise, persuasion, influence, rationale, and diplomacy

• Maintain a collaborative team environment with open communication, problem solving, and recognition

• Experience working with CAD (AutoCAD or SolidWorks preferred)
