Our client in New Bedford, MA is looking to hire a Compactor Service Technician (Full-Time)Location: New Bedford, MA Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30am–5:00pm Pay Range: $32–$36 per hour About the Role A waste equipment service company is seeking a skilled Compactor Repair Technician to join their team. This is a full-time, hands-on role for a motivated technician with strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repair experience. The technician will work both in the shop and on the road servicing compactors and related equipment. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair compactors both on-site and in the shop Perform daily pre-trip inspections and communicate service truck issues via DVIR Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (high-risk environment) Work with hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems (Self-Contained units, VIP, Mini Mac, etc.) Maintain professional communication with customers, vendors, and coworkers Uphold a positive and safe work environment Requirements Minimum 4 years of experience in compactor or similar equipment repair Ability to work 45 hours per week, Monday–Friday with occasional rotating Saturdays Strong understanding of high-voltage systems: 208v, 460/480v, & 120v Electrical or compactor repair certification a plus Welding and fabrication experience highly preferred Clean driver’s license & DOT permit (26,000 lbs and under required) Ability to weld mild steel (Stick, MIG) and safely use an oxy-acetylene torch Ability to read electrical diagrams a plus Must supply personal tools necessary for daily work Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Ability to work in various environments and weather conditions Strenuous physical labor including heavy lifting, pushing, and pulling Mobile role requiring both on-road and shop-based work If you are interested, reply to this posting or reach out to our office at: (774) 501-1692 Express Employment Professionals 705 Myles Standish Blvd Taunton, MA 02780 You should be proficient in: Mechanical Troubleshooting Skills High Voltage Systems
