We invite you to contribute to a sustainable future working in an open, collaborative and empowering culture.Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Civil Superintendent to lead the field execution of civil and site development scopes on complex data center construction projects. This role is responsible for overseeing all site preparation, earthwork, grading, underground utilities, drainage, and foundations. You will coordinate field activities, enforce safety and quality standards, and ensure civil work progresses on schedule and according to design.Key Responsibilities:Field Leadership & ExecutionSupervise daily activities of civil subcontractors including excavation, grading, trenching, backfilling, concrete foundations, roadwork, stormwater management, and utility installation.Interpret civil site plans, grading and drainage drawings, and ensure field execution aligns with design intent.Ensure the safe and timely completion of site scopes in preparation for building construction and vertical trades.Scheduling & CoordinationDevelop and manage 3-week lookahead schedules for site development activities.Coordinate closely with structural, utility, and MEP trades to support work sequencing and avoid rework or delays.Track civil progress against milestones and escalate potential impacts to overall project schedule.Quality Control & CompliancePerform daily inspections of excavation, compaction, utility installation, concrete placement, and erosion control measures.Ensure work is performed in compliance with project specifications, geotechnical reports, municipal requirements, and permitting conditions.Support field testing, third-party inspections, and recordkeeping for QA/QC documentation.Safety LeadershipEnforce safe work practices including trench safety, traffic control, equipment operations, and stormwater compliance.Conduct daily safety briefings and toolbox talks with subcontractors.Collaborate with the EHS team to perform site audits and resolve safety issues promptly.Documentation & ReportingMaintain daily logs documenting manpower, weather, equipment usage, and work progress.Review and respond to RFIs, submittals, and field changes related to site and civil scopes.Coordinate redlines, as-builts, and closeout documentation for site systems.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:7–10+ years of experience in civil/site construction, with 3+ years in a superintendent or field leadership role.Proven experience managing site work for data centers, industrial, or large commercial projects.Deep understanding of site preparation, earthwork, trenching, utilities, foundations, drainage, and concrete work.Ability to read and interpret civil site plans, survey data, grading and drainage drawings, and utility plans.Preferred Qualifications:OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.Experience with SWPPP, erosion and sediment control, and local/state permitting compliance.Familiarity with digital tools such as Bluebeam, ACC and BIM 360.Knowledge of survey coordination, layout tolerances, and site logistics planning.Personal Attributes:Practical, results-oriented field leader with strong communication and problem-solving skills.Able to work in dynamic, fast-paced environments and manage multiple crews effectively.Detail-oriented and proactive in identifying and addressing field issues.Committed to safety, quality, and team collaboration.Why Join Us?As a Civil Superintendent with Ramboll, you will play a key role in delivering the foundational elements of cutting-edge digital infrastructure.
