POSITION OBJECTIVE: The purpose of Elementary Advanced Learning Instructional Technology Curriculum Developer is to provide support for identification, teaching and learning focused on highly capable services at the elementary level. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.) Provides curriculum development in alignment with National and State standards in ELA, math, science, social studies, social emotional learning, and gifted and talented education Develops, deploys, collects, and scores screening assessments; observes students Analyzes student data (STAR, TRC, DIBELS, SBAC, Common Assessments, CogAT and Observational) and participates as a member of the multi-disciplinary team during the identification process Communicates regularly with families and school staff to share and provide rationale for identification decisions Ensures adherence to curriculum adoption policies and procedures Collaborates with other job alike positions to support all K-5 teachers and other staff Partners with curriculum publishers, OSPI, and other professional organizations as required for the position Provides professional development and coaching in best instructional practices to various stakeholders Completes required reports Assists with the development and implementation of technology resources Facilitates and leads a diverse group of adults for the purposes of promoting curriculum, instruction and technology implementation Demonstrates instructional leadership by being current in research and trends related to curriculum/technology issues, programs and needs at the state and national levels Performs other job-related duties as assigned May have a partial teaching assignment REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports directly to and is supervised by Director of Advanced Learning EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (positions in this class typically require): Required: Extensive elementary teaching experience, gifted education experience, and preferable at multiple grades (minimum of 5 years combined) Preferred: Teacher Leadership Experience including planning and implementing professional development Literacy/Math expertise Gifted Education expertise Multi-lingual learners’ expertise Bilingual/biliterate LICENSING REQUIREMENTS (positions in this class typically require): Possess or qualify for immediate issuance of a valid Washington State teaching certificate KNOWLEDGE (position requirements at entry): Common Core State Standards – (ELA & Math) Next Generation Science Standards C3 Social Studies Standards Washington State SEL standards Washington Administrative Code (WAC) and Revised Code of Washington (RCW) for Highly Capable Programming NAGC’s Pre-K to Grade 12 Gifted Programming Standards SKILLS (position requirements at entry): Demonstrates technology skills related to the position, including those related to instructional delivery, curriculum, including Microsoft Office 365 and related products Possesses clear written and oral communication skills Demonstrates multicultural sensitivity with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse populations Ability to perform all duties in accordance with all applicable Board policies and district and legal requirements Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a general posting for one or more Teaching positions. Positions may be full or part-time and will be filled as specific openings are identified. $ 69,816 to $ 130,960 annual salary (based on the negotiated collective bargaining agreement ). Certificated staff work the school year contract with placement on the District and BEA bargaining agreement salary schedule. Placement on the schedule is determined by training and experience. Medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, and life-insurance eligibility is based upon .45 FTE. Retirement provided through Washington State Department of Retirement Systems. This position is eligible for 20 extended days & a $5,000 stipend (prorated based on FTE).
