Founded over 40 years ago as an advertising company, Peterson Bros., Inc. now oversees entities in media, software development, security, manufacturing, and system integration.

We understand it takes a team to build a strong and successful company.  We value our employees and are seeking a dedicated, ethical individual to join our team.  In this position you will perform all accounting, budgeting and payroll functions for some of the entities and/or the management company and work closely with controllers of related companies on various projects.

Recent examples include application of newly issued software capitalization regulations, company organizational and start-up costs, and cash flow projections.

Historically our accounting departments have consisted of our Controller who then receives ancillary support from various members of the team, so the successful candidate has to not just be OK with, but rather driven by, being hands-on.

This is a great opportunity to learn all facets of our businesses and to have a real impact on their performance Responsibilities Include:Monthly account reconciliations Processing payroll Handling A/R, A/P and banking Producing monthly financial statements Financial budgeting and planning Managing employee personnel records – electronic and hard copy Employee benefits administration Processing personnel changes and new-hire paperwork POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Salary Range:  $80,000 - $120,000 Job Requirements: B.S. in Accounting A minimum of 5 years of experience as an accountant demonstrating increased responsibilities Experience with accounting software Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel (i.e. pivot tables, v-look-up) Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to successfully meet deadlines High attention-to-detail with strong desire for accuracy Payroll processing experience Preferred Skills/Experience: CPA certification or 2-4 years experience in public accounting Experience with ADP and QuickBooks, or similar software applications A strong need for correctness.  Highly conscientious High alacrity – willing to do multiple jobs outside of accounting Multistate payroll processing preferred Ability to perform tax and accounting research and form an opinion on application Peterson Bros., Inc. offers a generous compensation package.  In addition to a competitive salary, you will enjoy: Medical/vision/prescription/dental coverage for you and your family 100% company-paid short- and long-term disability insurance 100% company-paid life insurance 401(k) Plan with dollar-for-dollar company match up to 6% 15 vacation days 6 personal days 13 company-paid holidays   Powered by JazzHR
