Aventura at the Bay - Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)Aventura at the Bay, St. Petersburg, FLDepartment: In-House Subacute RehabilitationEmployment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Per DiemPosition SummaryAventura at the Bay is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our in-house subacute rehabilitation team. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to deliver high-quality therapeutic services that help residents regain independence, improve functional abilities, and achieve their highest level of well-being.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide occupational therapy treatments as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist in accordance with residents’ individualized care plans.Assist residents in improving functional tasks including ADLs, mobility, cognition, and upper-extremity strength and coordination.Document therapy services accurately, thoroughly, and in compliance with facility policies and regulatory guidelines.Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to collaborate on plan of care, progress, and discharge planning.Educate residents and caregivers on therapy techniques, adaptive equipment, and safety strategies.Monitor residents’ performance and communicate changes in condition or progress to the supervising OT.Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive treatment environment.Uphold all professional, ethical, and compliance standards set by state and federal regulations.QualificationsCurrent Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the state.Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.Prior experience in subacute rehab, skilled nursing, or long-term care preferred but not required.Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.Strong communication, time-management, and documentation skills.Compassionate dedication to supporting resident recovery and quality of life.What We OfferIn-house therapy model with strong clinical collaborationSupportive team environmentCompetitive compensation and benefits packageOpportunities for professional development and continuing education
