The qualified Deli, Fresh or Pet/Shelf Stable Beverage Associate Category Manager has at least 2 years of Category Management/Buying experience and is a raving fan of the Trader Joe's concept. A Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred. This role is based in our office in Boston, MA.The Category Manager is responsible for: Delivering Value (Quality and Price) to stores and supports Buyers to achieve fulfillment goals such as fill-rate, TOS and inventory quality goals. Collaborating with Category Manager and Senior Category Manager to achieve sales, margin, SKU count and sales dollar/unit minimum targets as well as provide support in daily tasks and projects as needed. Maintaining strong vendor relationships and actively seeks out new partnerships to expand product offerings and partners with Product Developers to diversify their vendor base. Staying current on industry trends, competitions and innovations to bring new ideas and strategies to the team. Working collaboratively with other departments such as Marketing, Operations and Finance. The Category Manager has: 1-3 years of category management, inventory management or buying experience preferably in the grocery and food space. Experience in buying and sourcing new food products. Strong negotiation skills. Excellent communication skills and demonstrates excellent time management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required as well as comfort with retail-based mathematics.
