The Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of large-scale cast changes through meticulous planning and coordination of shoreside and shipboard schedules and maintenance visits worldwide. This includes instructing shipboard cast members in choreography or vocals during rehearsals, providing feedback and direction, and collaborating with The Carnival Studios team to build schedules and support technical needs. The role also involves updating and maintaining show-specific training materials and establishing best practices for a safe and enjoyable rehearsal and installation process.Additionally, the role focuses on developing and communicating cast expectations, motivating, and inspiring cast members, and embodying Carnivals core behaviors. It requires active participation in team meetings and fostering a positive team environment. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with other Entertainment departments and partnering with Fleet Cast Managers to ensure successful cast transitions. Ensuring compliance with safety practices and company policies, maintaining high standards in program evaluation, and managing financial accountability are also key responsibilities.Essential Functions:Program, Operations & Innovation:Teaching: Instruct shipboard cast members in choreography or vocals during rehearsals to prepare them for performing in multi-million-dollar production shows across Carnivals fleet.Operations: Ensure the seamless execution of large-scale cast changes through meticulous planning and coordination of shoreside and shipboard schedules and maintenance visits worldwide. Organize and detail plans, considering all aspects and potential contingencies to ensure efficient task execution and goal achievement within specified time frames and resource allocation.Feedback and Direction: Provide feedback and direction during rehearsals, focusing on style and showmanship, character development, motivation, directors intent, and notes/corrections.Coordination: Collaborate with The Carnival Studios team to build schedules and support technical needs, including I.E.M., pre-records, Vocal Rest Tracks, costumes, and props.Training Materials: Update and maintain show-specific training materials, including blocking and vocal books.Best Practices: Establish and maintain best practices for a safe and enjoyable rehearsal and installation process by inspiring and motivating team members.Contract Scheduling: Work with The Carnival Studios team to build rehearsal schedules, confirm staffing, and support technical needs.Team Leadership and DevelopmentTraining: Develop protocol for teaching, warm up and physical health to ensure consistency across the fleet. Provide feedback and direction in rehearsals, including style and showmanship, character development, motivation, directors intent, and notes/corrections. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of music charts, tracks, and general updates to Supervisors for effective show execution.Cast Development: Develop and communicate cast expectations, motivate, and inspire cast members to reach their full potential, instilling Carnival Values.Cultural Essentials: Embody Carnivals expected behaviors, such as speaking up, respecting, protecting, improving, communicating, listening, learning, and empowering. Encourage team members to share insights, challenges, and suggestions to enhance collaboration and operational success while proactively resolving conflicts.Team Environment: Participate in team meetings, projects, and brainstorming sessions to encourage collaboration and idea sharing. Foster a positive team environment by recognizing individual contributions and promoting mutual respect and support.CollaborateInternal: Creative Development, Casting and Booking, Music & Technical teams to review operational efficiencies and programming strategies that impact guest satisfaction and revenue.Cross-Functional Work: Collaborate with Entertainment Department Heads and Hotel operations to support the alignment and consistency of shipboard entertainment across the fleet. Drive communication and collaboration between shoreside and shipboard teams to ensure operational success.Creative Development: Work with the Creative Development team on new Center Stage Aerial production concepts.Safety and ComplianceSafety Practices: Embrace safety practices and attend training programs to ensure the highest level of guest and crew safety while maintaining operational integrity. Ensure teams are prepared to fulfill onboard safety-related duties.Compliance Adherence: Ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures, emphasizing safety protocols and operational standards as outlined by Global HESS (Health, Environment, Safety, and Security) guidelines. Monitor ship locations for compliance with local and international laws and environmental impact considerations.Program EvaluationQuality Control: Ensuring that all on board production shows are taught and maintained to the highest standard. Support our Fleet Cast Managers with job specific skills for evaluations.Financial AccountabilityRehearsal Efficiency: Continuously monitor and reassess the rehearsal days per shows making sure we are teaching in the most efficient way.Travel and Expense: Manage personal and direct reports travel arrangements and expenses in line with Carnival Cruise Lines policies. Ensure all travel is cost-effective and compliant, and submit expense reports promptlyQualifications:High School Diploma or GED/Bachelors Degree in Musical theater, Dance, Theater or performing artsMinimum of one years teaching experienceKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Attention to Detail: Proven track record in scheduling and planning and able to ensure accuracy to avoid scheduling conflicts and errors.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members, vendors, stakeholders and colleagues.Conflict Resolution: Effectively resolving conflicts and finding common ground to maintain a positive work environment.Problem-Solving: Identifying issues and developing creative and effective solutions.Leadership: The ability to guide, motivate, and support team to achieve their best performance. Expertise in one or more areas such as cruise ships, hosted events, special events, show production, operation, music, and events. A strong understanding of the production process from pre-production to post-production. Working in various production roles a plus.Leadership: Inspire and guide teams to achieve exceptional results and reach their full potential.Physical Demands: Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds. May need to stand for long periods of time.Travel: Less than 25% with shipboard travel likelyWork Conditions: Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery. May be requested to work different shifts.This position is classified as in-office. Because of the nature of the role, employees are required to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida five days each week. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
