Main Purpose of Job The main purpose of this position is to evaluate grant proposals, distribute grant monies, monitor and report on assigned grant programs. The position will review grant applications and budget proposals to determine adherence to established policies and procedures. The position will also monitor grant expenditures and maintain up-to-date records on grant awards and expenditures. The position will prepare reports regarding grant expenditures that are used to make budget projections and will analyze past and present guaranteed budgets to determine if costs are appropriate. The position will also recommend cost containment measures and changes to grantees budgets as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Experience: Seven years of experience in grant evaluation and monitoring or budget preparation, presentation and execution. Notes: 1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of experience in grant evaluation and monitoring or budget preparation, presentation and execution for the required experience. 2. Candidates may substitute graduate education from an accredited college or university in accounting, business administration, economics, finance, political science or public administration at a rate of 30 credit hours for five years of the required experience. 3. Candidates may substitute Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Budget Officer classifications or Financial Management specialty codes in the Budgeting field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience. DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS The desired candidate should possess the following: 1. Experience managing grants, including oversight of grant applications, budgets and expenditures. 2. Experience working with state and/or federal programs, ensuring compliance with applicable policies and regulations.
